T minus 1 day till Jessup!

Only one more day before I go to Jessup Cellars and let me tell you I cannot wait!  Sorry I haven’t been able to post sooner, work has been killing me lately so I’ve been holed up in my cube.  Can anyone relate?  If you can, I’m sure you’ll agree that working so hard just makes that beautiful glass of chilled wine taste soooo much better.

Work aside, the last couple months have been quite the whirlwind for me.  For those hockey fans out there I’m sure you saw that my beloved Sharks were beaten out in the Conference finals by the Canucks.  Sad to see them go right before the finals twice in a row but nonetheless we’ll get the cup next year!  Congrats to the Bruins! Go USA!

My parents recently sold their house of 28 years which is quite the bittersweet feeling but it was definitely the right time for them.  Besides they’re moving to Santana Row, where everything is walking distance; like the “Vintage Wine Merchants” – a walk-in wine bar/restaurant where you can taste a flight of wines or try out a whole bottle from their awesome selection.  Last weekend was the big move and what great timing for a little relaxation after an exhausting move then to join me at Jessup. That’s right, my folks will be hanging out with me this weekend in Napa and to top it off it’s Father’s Day weekend!  What better present than to hang out in California wine country!

So for those locals out there, I recommend trying out an Italian restaurant in San Jose, CA named Giorgio’s, whom might I add, has the most amazing home made lasagna.  The waitress recommended a 2007 Blackstone Merlot in which, after a quick taste, I decided to give a shot.  I was pleasantly surprised!  The scent of black cherry and a nice smooth texture went great with those home-style Italian dishes.

I know I’ll have lots more to report after my trip to Napa so for now I’ll just end with a couple thumbs up awards:

2007 Bridlewood Estate Central Coast Viognier

2007 Blackstone Winery Merlot

Vintage Wine Merchants

JESSUP here I come!
