Jessica’s First Post
Cheers! I’m incredibly excited to be a Jessup Ambassador and feel honored to be given this opportunity.
Just to share a little bit about myself, I’m currently a second year MBA student at the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University. Graduation is just two short months away so therefore I have a pretty severe case of senioritis. The timing of being awarded the Jessup ambassadorship couldn’t be more perfect. Throw wine parties and blog about them? Yessss…. I now have a reason to be productive again. I can feel the type-A-ness in me making a comeback.
And actually, most of my classmates + friends know that vino is a big part of my life. I’m not a wine expert by any means, but I have major love and appreciation for the discovery + exploratory aspects of tasting wine. Not to toot my own horn, but I have a ridiculously keen palate. I can’t say I’m like Lady Gaga and born this way, but I spent 11 years working for the world’s largest coffee retailer. And believe it or not, coffee tasting is a lot like wine tasting… there’s a whole lotta sniffing, sipping, and savoring… oh, and both require lots of whitening toothpaste. But yes, those tobacco notes and earthy textures? The Chung Palate catches all of those…
Anyhow, I’m really looking forward to sharing my Jessup vino adventures with everyone. I think you’ll find that I’m all about making wine approachable and enjoyable… I pledge to do my best to keep the wine snobbery to a low.
